Heritage Advisory Committee

THAT Guy Latreille be elected as Chair of the Heritage Advisory Committee for 2024.

THAT Allan Honey be elected as Vice Chair of the Heritage Advisory Committee for 2024 to act in place and stead of the Chair when absent.

THAT the Minutes of the 5th Regular Meeting of the Scugog Heritage Advisory Committee held November 7, 2023 be adopted as circulated.

THAT the Heritage Advisory Committee approves the Scugog Council for the Arts request to continue to display the four (4) Murals on the outside east wall of the Scugog Arts Office located at 175 Queen Street for the purpose of continuing to support education and cultural heritage within Scugog; THAT staff allow an extension to the previously approved variance to Sign By-law #40-15 to allow the Murals to be displayed for up to one (1) year from the date of this meeting (January 9, 2024); AND THAT if the Scugog Council for the Arts should relocate to another space or are no longer in business within the one (1) year extension, that the Murals would be removed at that time.

THAT the Heritage Advisory committee recommends that "Griffen" be added to the Port Perry section of the street naming policy for the reasons provided in the attached document. AND THAT based on council approval, staff contact the Region of Durham to ensure there is no duplication.

THAT this meeting be adjourned.
