Heritage Advisory Committee

THAT the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Scugog Heritage Advisory Committee held February 19, 2026 be adopted as circulated.

1. THAT the Heritage Advisory Committee affirms that the attached Heritage Grant Application for Meta4 (Diane Elliot), located at 200 Queen Street, Port Perry, meets the criteria for approval under the Heritage Grant Guidelines; and 2. THAT the Committee recommends that Council approve the grant application for the repair of the exterior foundation/waterproofing and exterior parapet re-pointing, as described in the application, in the amount of $15,000; and 3. THAT the funds be distributed in accordance with the Heritage Grant Guidelines.

1. THAT the Heritage Advisory Committee recommends that Council approve the request to proceed with the Notice of Intent to Designate Cartwright Old Town Hall located at 13940 Old Scugog Road, Blackstock, under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act; and 2. THAT the attached Heritage Value Statement be approved and included in the notice; and 3. THAT Council authorize Staff to fulfill the requirements of the Notice of Intent to Designate as described in the Planning Act; and 4. THAT if no objections are received, that Staff proceed with the designation process and registration of the property as described in the Planning Act.

THAT the Scugog Heritage Advisory Committee confirms participation in the 1st annual Scugog Heritage Fair on April 11, 2026 at the Scugog Memorial Public Library and extend an invitation to Council Members to attend.

1. THAT the Scugog Heritage Advisory Committee recommends that Council authorize Staff to schedule maintenance for the clocks for this spring; and 2. THAT Council consider including a line item of maintenance for the Town Hall 1873 clock on an annual basis.

THAT the Scugog Heritage Advisory Committee recommends Council to consider Staff to review and update the Seasonal Patio Standards policy document and application form to include further details of the allowances within the program and that staff require Heritage Permits to be obtained for Patio Furniture and Umbrellas within the Heritage Conservation District.
